November Tenth--Happy Birthday, Brad!

Today I am thankful for this man who has spent the last 20 years of his life with me. Anyone who can do that deserves a mountain of gratitude!
This morning he wanted a breakfast of eggs, bacon, toast, and hot chocolate. I was happy to make it for him since I really never get to make him breakfast. He usually has a protein shake and is off to work before I'm even out of bed.

I am thankful that he works hard to provide for our family. I am thankful that he wants the kids to be involved in activities (though I complain about it too much). I am thankful that on my worst days he picks up what I can't do and is understanding. I am thankful that at 40 he isn't going through a mid-life crisis, but instead is embracing our family and home and putting forth an even greater effort to be present in our lives.

I love you, Brad. Thanks for being you.

(And, yes, I'm spending my morning cleaning up the kitchen mess you see behind him).

Bird, Merek, and I are going to have lunch with dad at his work. And then later for dinner we are going out to The Crab Pot. We've never eaten there before but Brad wants lobster for dinner, and I don't cook lobster. He has requested a white cake with white frosting and moose tracks ice cream.

I can't believe he is 40. Are we really getting that old?

On to some projects to share today . . .

For the October SRM DT assignment, I signed up to make three Christmas ornaments using the Christmas quick card stickers. You can see them, along with a few others on the SRM blog today.

Quick Cards #52013 Merry

Quick Cards #52012 Jolly
(The Jolly sticker is on felt)

Quick Cards #52028 Believe

That's it for today. I really need to finish cleaning the kitchen, which was left in a state of disarray when at 8:15am this morning I realized I needed to send in 20 bags of popped popcorn for Bird's kindergarten class pajama day.

What are you thankful for on this 10th day of November?

ps--it's sunny outside. Hooray!

pps--I have to share this funny thing Bird said at breakfast this morning. I said to DH, "Did you ever think at 40 you would have five kids?" He replies, "No, but I love it." (Gotta love him for that answer). Then Lina said, "What if we were triplets and all in middle school right now?" Then Bird replied, "What if we were fif-lets?" I busted up laughing. It was SO cute how he thought five kids the same age would be called.
