Today I am thankful for the day I had with my kids. First up we went to Lina's last soccer game in Carnation. We got stuck on 202 waiting for an accident to clear. Thankfully, no one was seriously injured. We arrived about 10 minutes late to the game. The other team was kind enough to let us borrow enough players so we wouldn't have to forfeit. (About 6 of our players were stuck in the back up). It was a cold morning but the girls played great. Lina was forward the first half, then played goalie the whole second half. She allowed one shot through, but then blocked three others. Her team won 3-2.
It's hard to believe soccer season is over. M said to me, "Are you glad soccer is over so life won't be so crazy?" It took me a second to realize, life still is crazy. And will be . . . at least through the holidays.
DH returned home from Italy today. It was a long week without him home.
Anyway, after the game we headed to REI to get M a new winter coat and Krish some BOGS. I haven't shopped much at REI but think I may become a regular there . . . so much cool stuff.
Then we headed to Panera for lunch. We enjoyed mac-n-cheese, chicken noodle soup, and turkey sandwiches. The kids were excited that I let them get soda and bought brownies to share. We saw Lina's teammate, Alyson, there with her family. And there was a worker there that we knew must be a Jones boy.
We went to Target after lunch to get a birthday present for Krish's friend and Miranda spent her birthday gift card. Why is it that at Target so much more ends up in my basket than is on my list?
We made a quick stop at the IGA on the way home and then I treated the kids to Peppermint hot cocoa at Starbucks, since it was BOGO that afternoon.
I love spending time with my kids, without having the stress of having to be somewhere at a certain time.
They are such amazing people and I'm so thankful for them :)
