Today I thought of the family members who have served in our country's armed forces. How thankful I am for all those who have served, those who have died, and those who are currently serving in the military.
How thankful I am for them.
The kids did not have school today, for the holiday. I had seen a few posts about taking a photo on 11/11/11 at 11:11am. I thought about doing that and it was on my mind all morning as I was working. But then at 11:11am I was helping Bird write some journaling on a scrapbook page he had just completed, and I decided that helping him was more important than taking a photo.
It's been a dark, dreary day here . . . lots of rain, even some hail and a bit snow. We had some hot chocolate. Lina attended two birthday parties, Bird had a violin lesson, and tonight is family movie night.
We are thankful for our safety, freedom and opportunity to spend the day together.
