Things work out

I have a story to share.

For a few weeks, I've been trying to figure out my piano schedule. I teach half of my weekly lessons on Fridays. One of my students has a sibling who was wanting to start piano. I had talked to his mom about switching him to another day because I would like to have 45-minute lessons with him. So, the plan was for his sister to take his spot on Fridays.

Another of my students only has lessons every other Friday. With his open spot earlier, my other student was coming during that time so he could finish his lessons right after school. That left the time slot when my kids get home from school open. It was nice to have that 30 minutes with them every other week, to hear about their day, before I went on to teach the rest of my lessons.

So, back to figuring out my schedule, I was a bit sad to lose that time slot every other week since the sibling would be coming weekly starting in February. I tried to find another time to work her in, but knew it would be difficult since we had already planned it out.

I even prayed about what to do, because I have been having lots of inspiration to find more time to spend with my kids.

Well, Monday morning I received an email from the siblings' mom letting me know that, because of unexpected expenses, they would not be able to start her daughter in lessons until fall. AND she would still like to have her son take the 45-minute lessons. What does that all mean?

That I will have the time slot open EVERY Friday to be available to my kids when they arrive home from school. We can share a snack and they can tell me all about their day.

While I could have used the extra money from the additional student, I didn't NEED it.

But I DO need more time with my kids.

The Lord truly blesses us. I know I shouldn't be surprised at how that worked out but I am amazed each time I think about it.

Thanks for letting me share :)

I hope you get the perfect plan to be able to help your students and spend time with your lovely children.

It is so wonderful when it just falls into place like that. We've had some kid activity schedule things that were not working well for us, and over the past two months things have just shifted to a much better schedule. Truly a blessing!
