It's a New Year--Happy 2013!

I'm trying to figure out a plan for my blog this year.

Should I just post when I feel like it?
Should I write about our family adventures and daily life?
Should I post my projects?

What do you do with your blog?

What do you like about visiting my blog?

I'll have significantly fewer design team projects to share with you this year. Right now, I am only designing for Paper Posies. There is another DT term that I will begin in February (it's still unannounced though).

But I'm looking forward to a little more freedom in my creativity. Planning to use up a lot of supplies that I have in my stash. Hoping to make it through some online classes I have been enrolled in but have yet to complete (or even start).

I do have a daily schedule that I've written out (not necessarily in this order):

Exercise
Daily Devotional**
Breakfast, lunches*
Clean**
Communicate**
Merek
Dinner*
Project**
Laundry
Service**
Homework
Camp
Practice**

**(Daily Devotionals--read, music, meditate, pray, listen to talks)
**(Clean--Kitchen: floor, counters, surfaces, dishes, sink, island; Bathrooms: sinks, toilets, baths, floors; Family room: dust, vacuum, toys/books; Dining Room: dust, vacuum, table; Entryway: dust, vacuum, shoes; Bedrooms: beds, dust, vacuum, toys, clothes, closets; Hallways/Stairs: dust, vacuum, pick up)
**(Communicate--Thank You note, call, FB, text)
**(Project--garage, pantry, junk drawers, junk cabinet, coat closet, scrapbooking area, scrapbook, cards, gifts, closets, laundry room, van, bathroom cupboards, menues, schedules, outfits)
**(Service--card, dinner, treat, babysit, reading buddy, VT, gift card/$, donation, rides, volunteer, lunch)
**(Practice--piano, sewing, Spanish, online classes, dance, singing, hair styles)

*Breakfast--Oatmeal, cracked wheat, eggs, toast, cheese, pancakes, cereal, muffins, fruit, yogurt

*Lunch--sandwich: PB, tuna, turkey, egg salad, chicken salad; fruit, veggies, snack

*Dinner--chicken, beef, pork, fish, salad, beans, rice, pasta, Mexican, Chinese, pizza, sushi, Indian, potatoes, soup

I was hoping to get the exercising done first thing but Brad has his scheduled then. So I think I'll be sure to do my devotional, project, and communication then before the kids wake up.

After the big kids are off to school, I can have my Merek-time and then we'll go to the Y to exercise.

The kids will have a schedule to help with the cleaning, and possible the meals. I really want to be more involved with their homework.

It is crazy when I think how busy life can be. I really want to focus on the basics--family and home. Not really making any resolutions, just trying to get things in order.

I like when you post about your daily life and your kids. Even though your days are busy, I get this peaceful feeling reading all of it and I think things like, "I should let myself have a nap sometimes, too." or "That would be a fun thing to do with my kids." I like hearing about the books you are reading, too.

I like your projects that you post--I really liked one time when you posted the pencil sketch you had made and then what the final page looked like. That made me feel like I might be able to be more creative with my own scrapbooking. So if you did more glimpses into that creative process, I think that would be cool.

Hi Melanie

You should feel free to post whatever you want to. I know how many times I have checked back on my blog for dates and how much easier blogging makes my journaling on my layouts. I visit your blog because you have become a friend over the years and therefore I am interested in what is happening in your life.

Wishing you and your beautiful family much peace and joy for 2013.

xx

I have followed your blog for awhile now. I really enjoy seeing the things you create. I like that you are also journaling personal things about your family because it makes you "real" and relatable. Blogging is a thing that takes time and sometimes it takes the time from your family so I understand trying to balance it all. By the way your schedule makes me feel like I need to step it up~ :) Love that you are so intentional about your day. Something I need to be better about.
