Creating Keepsakes features

I've only been a Creating Keepsakes magazine reader,
 since oh . . . 1999!

So, it is pretty darn exciting for me to have a layout published in their October 2011 Top Ten issue. It's on page 72. Here is a little peek . . .
My kids think they are famous since their pictures are on the layout. In fact, this week when Merek and I were in Safeway grocery shopping, I saw the CK issue on the newsstand. I picked it up and flipped to the page and showed him the photos. He said, "Guy!" (that is his name for Bird). Then he went through and identified each of the kids, including himself "me".

And, then, in addition to that, a project idea of mine was chosen from the SRM Stickers DT to be feature on the Creating Keepsakes blog today!

We were asked to come up with ideas on using the SRM tubes for storage. I had a couple of ideas, but this one was picked for me to put together for the blog feature--storing baker's twine.

I have some bags of loose twine and it gets all tangled up. So I thought to wrap the loose twine around dowels and punch a hole in the lid to pull the twine through. I divided the inside of the tube into three sections by using two strips of folded cardstock. Then I added SRM number stickers along the tube on the outside so when I pull the twine out I can measure it in inches. Clever, huh? ;) Easy and useful!

Please be sure to check out the CK blog today to see the other awesome tube storage ideas. Leave me a comment there and I'll go through them to pick out a winner for a package of scrapbook goodies from me.

And, if you'd like to leave a comment here on my blog, I'll pick a winner from here, too. You are welcome to leave comments on both blogs :)

Check back here on Monday October 3rd (really, October already?) to see who the winners are.

Enjoy your day. Hope it is filled with sunshine!
