Alarm went off at 6am. Mixed up wassail and put it on the stove to simmer. Mixed up the cake for Lina's birthday party and put it in the over to bake. Typed up program for recital. Cut up pumpkin bread and layered it on a serving platter. Sliced fudge and placed it on a snowflake dish. Cookies on a plate.
Kids up. Practicing songs. Printed programs. It's snowing! Packed up car and headed up to golf club for the recital.
Perfect setting. Beautiful view. It went well. So proud of my students and how hard they worked to prepare for the recital. "Their songs will be perfect because of the effort they put in to prepare them."
Thankful for the family and friends that attended, especially Kori, Bird and Krish's teachers, and Krish's first-grade teacher. So appreciative of their support.
Brad not feeling well when we got home. He rested and the kids vegged out on screen-time. Spent a little time with Krish, he was tired and bored. Got him calmed down by looking through a scrapbook. Put away recital stuff, cleaned up kitchen. Prepared for Lina's party.
2:00pm Lina's friends arrive. Drove down to Seattle Arcade. Still snowing at home, turned to rain in Seattle. Girls had a great time at the arcade. Wish we had a little longer time. Returned home to over an inch of snow on the ground. Girls decorated Lina's cake--sleepover cake. She opened gifts then they had cake. Played in the snow after friends left. Merek liked it, but did not like his pants getting wet when he fell down. Lina and Krish built a snowman.
Ordered Chinese for dinner. Brad and kids watched Christmas movie. Laundry, dishes, putting clothes away. Kids in bed by 8:30pm after late night last night. Watching Survivor before heading to bed.
Need to start on "after-recital" list: Christmas gifts, Christmas cards, preparing for MIL's arrival.

You are really documenting your December in such a stunning way that I can see that you have more than enough material for a December daily.
