Brotherly Love

Setting: I just turned on Dinosaur Train for Merek and then went to put a load of clothes in the washing machine. Krish and Bird are in their room playing animals.

While I'm loading clothes into the washer, I start to hear some frustrated cries come from the boys room. Then Bird comes out of the room and says to Krish, "I don't like that. I'm not going to play with you anymore!" He emphasizes that with a soft slam of the door. He runs to the bonus room and sees Merek watching Dinosaur Train.

Bird then runs back to their room and excitedly exclaims, "Krish! Dinosaur Train is on!!"

The two boys run out to the bouns room and plop down to watch the show with their little brother. On the way, Bird shouts, "Shiver me, timbers!"

Ah, the change of emotions. The excitement of their favorite show. So glad that fight didn't last long.

But where did "Shiver me, timbers" come from?

Wonderful how quickly children forget their squabbles...and life just happily continue...when did we lose that ability in life?

Yes, I've noticed how quickly a love/hate relationship with two brothers can flip! Oh, and with two (former) pirate-lovin' boys, "Shiver me, timbers" is well known in this house.

The things they come off with - it's why we scrapbook, huh?
