Easter 2010

This year for Easter we had another simple, traditional Easter--just right for us. We dyed eggs on Saturday evening. Then Sunday morning the kids got to hunt for their baskets when they woke up. We had egg wars and they ate chocolate for breakfast :) Lina picked out some pretty purple flowers for me to have on Easter morning, too. That made me feel so loved!

Merek was so cute with his easter basket. As soon as he saw it he immediately grabbed the See's egg and wanted it open. DH obliged and Merek was happy as a clam eating his egg.
We headed to the 11:00 service at St. Michael's. DH was in charge of the kids' egg hunt so we headed out after the Peace to hide the eggs. (Which was great because by that time the kids were ready to be done with trying to sit still. Chocolate for breakfast does not bode well for reverent children). Thankfully it was not raining. We separated the grounds into four sections for the different age groups (note to self: less eggs for the 1-3 year olds and more for the 9-12 year olds. Oh, and keep hard candy out of the little ones eggs). Miranda was a bit disappointed in the little amount of candy she received but I let her take some of Merek's. Plus, one of the kids in her Sunday School class has allergies and traded her his chocolate candies for her hard candies.
After church we enjoyed a restful afternoon at home. I watched the last session of conference--wonderful messages. DH made dinner--ham, sweet potatoes, fruit salad, eggplant melts on asagio/pesto bread, and ice cream sundaes for dinner.

We all had a nice day, celebrating traditions, each other, eating chocolate, and reflecting on the Savior's gift for us.

Cute pictures! I HAVE to know how you got FIVE kids to smile (and look at the camera) at the SAME time! Major kudos to you for that my friend! Sounds like a wonderful Easter!

Looks like you all had a wonderful Easter. I love the group photo of the kids - in the shot, it's hard to believe Merek isn't even 18 months old yet!
LOVE the chocolate face shot, too. We (sadly) didn't have any of those this year. I guess "neatness" is a sign of getting older? :(
