Something cool: Last night as I was doing dishes, Krish asked me to read to him. I said I would when it was time to go to bed. He grabbed Bird's new Curious George book to look at while he waited. I mentioned that he could look for words in it that he already knew. He picked a story to read and then started sounding things out. He asked me a few times for help, but in the next 10 minutes he could read, "This is George. He lived with his friend, the man with the yellow hat." So cool that he is starting to read!
Something funny: The other day I was making lunch. Bird starts talking to me. I gave him a few acknowledging answers. Then he says, "Stop talking like that." Hmmmm? "Stop talking like that," he says again. "What do you mean?" I ask. "Saying 'hmmmm' and 'uh-huh'. I don't like it when you talk like that." Guess he told me!
After Merek's last update there are a few more things I wanted to mention. He loves playing Pattycake, peek-a-boo, and This Little Piggy. Those will pretty much calm him down when he is fussy. He has started to wave a bit more. Loves drinking water out of his sippy. And now he is pulling up to everything! Yikes--I'm worried I'll have a walker very soon!
