July Hip Kit Layouts

July's Hip Kit was packed with color and patterns. There was a mix of Basic Grey, Collage Press, Scenic Route, and Jenni Bowlin. And the embellishments were some of my favorites so far! I managed to make 6 layouts with the kit (one 2-pager).

Here are the layouts. If you want to see layout details and the other designers work, check out the Hip Blog.

I took Elizabeth Kartchner's challenge to take a photo of what you were doing on 7-8-09 at 10:11:12. This layout is about that challenge.

We have some amazing old family photos from B's uncle. I love looking through them. These papers seemed to have the vintage feel to me that I thought would go well with some of the pictures.

For the edge on the cardstock in the layout below, I used my trusty Fiskars Cloud decorative scissors. I also added rub-ons to the canvas flower and behind the "love" in the title to give a little more definition to them.

A pretty simple two-pager--I loved these die-cut circles from Collage Press. The idea for this LO came to me one night when I couldn't sleep. Don't you love those inspirational times?

The banners below were made from cutting the die-cut circles apart. Again, another late-night inspiration. The blue ribbon was originally flat but I sewed a straight stitch on it and then pulled the bobbin thread to bunch it up. It turned out just as I envisioned! I've really enjoyed sewing on my layouts more, too. Loving the Sew Mini!

Here is my sweet new nephew, Hans. This was the first LO I created with the kit. I sewed on the stars (which were hand cut) to give them a fun center. This was also the layout I completed for the A La Carte Challenge #4. I used a Jana Eubank sketch for the layout (she is one uber-talented gal!!).
That's it for now. I think Kimberly still has some of these kits left so shoot her an email if you'd like to grab one before they are gone.

I love all of your layouts, but the 4th one is my favorite. Too cool! I think I would have had trouble using those papers, but you continue to amaze me!
