Recognizing my blessings

This morning as I dropped Miranda off at school, we had our usual she-kisses-me-on-the-cheek-and-says-I-love-you-and-I-say-I-love-you-too routine. But then I added, "Be happy today." I don't think she really heard me. And I'm glad she didn't. As soon as I said it and she shut the door, I realized I don't need to tell her that.

She IS happy, everyday. I'm so blessed to have such an amazing daughter. She gets herself up at 6:30am, eats breakfast, packs her lunch (which she made the night before), and gets ready to go. We have to leave about 7:10 to get her to school on time. She does her homework and turns it in on time. She just made a 4.0gpa for second trimester!

Miranda is such a good kid. This morning she even unloaded the dishwasher for me before she had to go to school. And, can I say just one more good thing about her? A few weeks ago she started doing her own laundry! So every Friday she washes her clothes for the week.

LOVE this girl!

So, then to make my morning even better . . . after returning home and making breakfast for the other kids, Lina presents me with this adorable project she made for me (she worked on it last night and this morning). She is so sweet!

I love these girls of mine! I try my best to be a good mom but often feel like I'm failing. At times like this morning, I have hope that maybe I'm doing ok after all. Or, maybe I just got really lucky . . . but I'll take the blessings either way :)

Well it seems to me that you must be a GREAT mom to have such blessings in your life. They didn't learn to be so kind from a stranger. When you feel like your failing just look a their smiles and know that your not. {{hugs}}

You do have great girls! But I think you set a great example for them, so it isn't hard to believe that they would be so sweet too.
