St. Patrick's Day

My kids were sure excited about St. Patrick's Day for some reason. I don't know why. I wasn't. Maybe because it was the 5-year anniversary of us moving into this house? Am I getting antsy to move again?

But to add to their festive mood I put a spoonful of brown sugar in the bottom of their breakfast bowls before adding the oatmeal. I said, "Stir. And you will find gold."

They got after me for not wearing green. I said, "Moms don't have to. So you'd better not pinch me."

Bird was so excited after preschool! Well, he was excited before preschool because he wanted to see if he'd caught a leprochaun in his trap! He showed me his trap, the gold coins he found, and told me all about the tricks the leprochaun did to their classroom. And how the tricks were "unappropriate". Yesterday he was sure to wear all green--shirt, pants, underwear, and socks. He cracks me up! (Sorry--this picture was taken this morning so he isn't wearing his all-green outfit).Krish kept forgetting what "those little guys are called". They came into his classroom yesterday and left a gold treat (rolo) for everyone.

The boys found candy canes on their pillows after school and Miranda had a Dum-Dum on hers. I have NO idea who that leprochaun was.

After school, Miranda had softball practice. Then she had piano lessons immediately following. Then we headed straight to the BYU Ballet. It was wonderful! The girls and I had a great time. The boys stayed home to have a great time with Megan (I didn't think they'd like the ballet too much. They might have though. But I wasn't about to attempt the Ballet with 5 kids in tow).

DH gets home tomorrow from Europe. Yea! He left Saturday morning. It has been a long week without him.

Krish told me yesterday that Easter is only 18 days away. Can it be? And he informed me that the Easter Bunny always brings a new stuffed animal for each of them. However, last year he didn't. Krish told me that last year the Easter Bunny brought a book for Bird, a coloring book for Krish, a book for Lina, and chapter books for Miranda. Apparently, books do not compare to stuffed animals. First of all, I cannot believe he remembers what he (and his siblings) got for Easter last year. Second of all, I do not need five more stuffed animals in my house. Time to start planning out those baskets, I guess!

And can I just say and admit, that I LOVE Cadbury Creme Eggs. Yes, I know, everyone thinks the creme filling is gross. But I like it. So there! The mini-eggs are pretty good, too :)
