April Polka Dot Whimsy projects

Polka Dot Whimsy's April Main kit had a beautiful vintage feel to it. Lots of pretty trims and lovely paper patterns. I loved the bright colors of yellow and red thrown in as well. I made one layout and three cards with the kit, as well as tags for some SRM wands. But two of the cards and the wands will be shown in later posts :)

The layout I made is about Miranda. How I love this girl! She recently has started taking on bigger responsibilities, including mowing the lawn. (We really don't have a big lawn, though). I remember mowing the lawn when I was growing up. It was one of my jobs to do to earn allowance. I think I earned $10 or $15 dollars. But we had a HUGE lawn and it took me at least two hours to do the job. Our current lawn is about a 20 minute job. Nevertheless, it is a good chore for Miranda--and I think DH likes that she mows as well.

And here is one of the cards I made with the kit. Fun fabric swatches are included in the PDW kits. This particular heart was on a square but I cut the heart out and stitched it to the paper, leaving a spot open to stuff the heart with batting. Then I finished sewing--obviously, I need to learn proper sewing techniques (ha!).

There were these beautiful flowers in the kit and I thought they'd look so pretty on a card. Guess this one isn't going in the mail :)

Have a great day!
