Thanksgiving weekend review

We left last Wednesday to spend the Thanksgiving holiday and weekend at my parents' house. In addition to our family of seven, two of my sister's and their families were there--adding 13 more people. And my parents. Twenty-two of us in one house for four days. Lots of fun!

Dads and kids played the annual Turkey Bowl (football on the lawn)--which extended into Friday and Saturday as well.

The moms admired them for playing outside in the single-digit temperature. We stayed inside to make crafts and help in the kitchen. These turkeys were our placecard holders (idea from Elle's Studio).

The kids played, laughed, sang songs, learned the game of Queen Elephant, had rousing games of chess, and watched Bolt, Bambi, and The Princess Bride.

Desiree flew home from college as a surprise to her mom. So fun to have her there with us!

Lina and Sarianne did their best to make use of what little snow fell.

And Merek spent most of the weekend either following Grandpa around or pushing the truck and horse trailer. He loved the "yee-haws" (horses).

My 88-year-old grandmother wasn't feeling well Thursday so we missed having her over for dinner. But on Friday she called and wanted to come visit everyone. It was good to see her. Later that afternoon, my sister offered to watch our kids so DH and I went to see the new Harry Potter movie in town. Looking forward to July for the final episode. On Saturday night, the adults watched the original "True Grit". Dad and I have plans to go see the remake at Christmastime.

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. We have so much to be thankful for!

Wow my brother looks tall with all those short kids. I think they were crazy to play in such cold weather.

Fun photos! I'm especially loving the photo with sledding in very little snow on the ground. That is SO something Bryn would want to do the minute it snows! LOL!
