In December, the local Starbucks will be featuring projects with products from the LSS,
Hip 2-b Square. Kimberly, the Hip owner, gave me some Christmas products to use to make projects for the display. This is what I started with:
| There are papers and brads from My Mind's Eye and Making Memories; Making Memories card bases and felt flowers; My Mind's Eye and Bella Blvd. stamps; May Arts ribbons; Baker's twine; Jenni Bowlin vintage buttons, and SEI buttons. |
| As soon as I saw that red polka dot ribbon I knew I had to gather it :) This was the first layout I made. The MME stamps were fun to use as well. I haven't stamped forever! |
| I cut one of the MME die cuts to frame my top photos here. I stamped the tree and the deer. |
| Can I ever do a batch of LO's without a big circle on one of them? No! LOL I actually wasn't planning to do this layout but as I was gathering up products after finishing everything else, the idea for this popped into my head. It came together in less than 45 minutes. |
| Love this pictures of Bird! I layered some punched circles with the MME snowflake die cut and a vintage button, then a brad on top. Thanks to Miranda for threading all of those buttons along the bottom for me. I could not find any letter stickers in my stash to match that light blue in the MME die cuts, so I used my Fa La La Slice cartridge and cut some out. Then I added some Crystal Effects (Stampin' Up) to make the letters glossy. And was inspired by AmyInKY to mat the title. |
| I stamped this little bird on the back of the red paper then cut him out and added an eye with a white pen. No sentiment on this one--I thought it was pretty obvious it was for Christmas :) |
| Oh, the "joy" of my sewing maching breaking down on me again! I would have loved to stitch along the edges of this tag. Pen stitching didn't look quite right. I'm setting up my new Singer after Thanksgiving. |
| Here I layered three strips of rickrack for the green border, then layered a MM brad on top of MM felt. The stamp is Bella Blvd. Oh, and I learned a new trick with my corner rounder on this card--I'll have to share that with you another time :) |
| The MM card bases were nice to start with. These MME die cuts letters were so cute and perfect for a card. The Jenni Bowlin buttons were great to add to my projects--love the detail and dimension on them. |
Well, if you are local be sure to stop into the Ridge Starbucks during December to see these projects of mine and other projects by Kimberly. If you aren't local, well, then enjoy looking at them here :)

Such a lot of stunning projects...well done on this Melanie...you did amazing.
What great projects! I think the first one just might be my favorite - love that wide ribbon! I'm so lifting the idea to thread baker's twine through that punched border like in the "tree" layout. Glad I gave you an idea, too. ;)
Everything is beautiful! Love the sewn on ruffle, adorable!
Have a great Thanksgiving!
I too love the music ribbon and the santa hat lo.

I love love love the cards too!!! They exude elegance.
Beautiful projects, Melanie! You will make Kimberly's store shine for sure! Love the first LO...the ruffled ribbon is gorgeous with those photos! Can't wait to hear about the corner rounder technique!
Happy happy Thanksgiving, my friend! :-)
