Six on the Sixth

Happy 6th Birthday to the sweetest little boy I know!

He wants breakfast in bed . . . waffles.

A playdate with Andrew in the morning.

Fruit and soup for lunch.

Hot dogs, fruit salad, green salad, and a vegetable for dinner.

And he wants to go to Free Swim.

For his cake, he wants Cake Pops on top of a German Chocolate Cake.

He asked for Star Wars action figures, legos, and books.

I love this little boy more than I can say. He is such a ray of sunshine in my life. I love to see the confidence he has developed over the past year. As excited as he is to go to kindergarten this fall, I'm sad to think he'll be gone 1/2 of every weekday. He really is a super sweet boy. He loves to snuggle. He LOVES to read . . . and is already reading chapter books. He likes doing yoga and hip hop. He sings and makes up songs non-stop. He is kind and polite. He will do any chore I ask of him without complaining.

He has a smile that radiates through his eyes.

On his last day as a five-year-old, he lost his first tooth! It was pretty loose and the permanent tooth was coming in behind the baby tooth. As I wiggled it at lunch, I decided just to pull it out. He kept checking out the hole in his mouth throughout the rest of the day :) And, he got a haircut, too. I love his thick blonde hair with it's amazing body. But he wanted it cut to "here" (holding his finger above his eyebrows), and DH was ready to take him to Great Clips (aahh! never!). So I took him up to the salon I go to and Marika gave him a nice 6-year-old haircut.

He is growing up way too fast! I told him before tucking him into bed last night . . . "I'm sad to be losing my sweet little FIVE-year-old boy". He replied, "Well, I'll still live at home when I go to college. That way we can still be together."

Happy Birthday, Bird!
