SRM issued a "Kids Craft" feature for the design team. It's is on the SRM blog today. I told my kids about it and had them come up with ideas of things they wanted to make. Each of them chose a sticker sheet or two, papers, and then we worked on their projects. I tried to let them do the majority of the work (and tried not to fix anything or make suggestions) :)
Miranda wanted to make a recipe book. She has really enjoyed baking and cooking the past year. She covered a composition notebook and then added stickers to decorate the cover. She is also planning to add tabbed sections later on once she starts putting her favorite recipes in it.
Krish saw the wand and decided to make a fishing pole (that may have been due to the fact that he saw the bag of Swedish Fish on the counter!). But he has also been looking forward to learning how to fish sometime when he goes to visit grandpa.
It's hard to see, but he put a paper clip hook on the bottom of the string and added a fish on the hook :)
He added the fish stickers to the wand to secure the string. He wanted the banner on the string, not the tube :)
Bird wanted to make a job chart. He is mom's special helper, always willing to do whatever job mom needs him, too :) So we made the chart and added a tube with magnets adhered to the back so it will all stick on the fridge.
We adhered the sentiment stickers onto the patterned papers. Then we ran them through the Xyron with the sticker facing down so the adhesive was on top of the sticker. Then we stuck the shape on the outside of the back of the tube so it shows through. As he finishes jobs, he can add things to the tube and have congrats sentiments along the way to the filling the tube. I suggested he receive pennies for jobs--he wants chocolate chips so when the tube is full we can make chocolate chip cookies together. (I love this little guy. What am I going to do next fall when he goes to kindergarten?)
Lina wanted to make birthday cards because, as she said, "I always need a card the last minute before going to a party." Other than me cutting the cardstock for the card base, she completely made these cards by herself.
Be sure to visit the SRM blog today to see some fabulous kids crafts and creations :)

Have a great weekend, Melanie! :-)
How cool!! I love them all and I love how they each had such different ideas. Very creative!!
Your projects are so darling and even better are your models :)
How fun it was to open my mailbox and find the sweet little package of stickers from you just for following your blog. You are too nice! Thanks so much. It took a little longer to get to me because I've now moved to Nebraska, but it was perfect fun for a gray, yucky day. :)
