Layouts with sketches

Here are a couple of pages that I completed recently using sketches. I enjoy using sketches sometimes because it makes the process go a little quicker for me (and who couldn't use a little more time?). Both layouts use kits from Paper Posies. Michelle, the owner, has a sale usually twice a year with all of her past kits on sale. I got lucky last year and found out about the sale just in time to get some kits for $15!

This first layout was done with Pencil Lines sketch #169. I used the Jan'09 PP kit with a few embellies from the May'09 kit, plus a few things from my stash--Jenni Bowlin crepe paper, glimmer mist, and Kaiser Craft mini alphas. The Paper Posies blog had a challenge on it to make a layout inspired by clothing. I used my clothing in the picture to inspire the ruffles with the crepe paper and the color scheme for the layout. The next page was done using a PageMap from Becky Fleck. She had a page call on her blog last month and I gave it shot. My page didn't get picked up but I still love it. I love the photos and journaling. I used the May'09 PP kit, along with a few splashes from the Jan'09 kit--guess I like those two together :) I added some chipboard thickers from my stash and covered them with stickles for the title.
I have some exciting news to share as well, in relation to using sketches but I have to wait until it is officially posted. :D
Thanks for visiting my blog today. Hope you have a fantastic week!!
