Challenges, challenges, challenges

I've discovered a fun new place to play-- A La Carte. Funny how you end up somewhere . . . I was visiting one of my favorite scrappers sites here and just happened to click on Aphra's name (it IS an interesting name) which led me to her challenge blog. I really like challenges because they light a fire under me and get me to scrap. And I really like the whole aspect of the A La Carte blog that she and Frances have put together. You should go check it out, especially if you like to be challenged (and you know who you are *wink*wink*)

And so, with the Challenge #1 at A La Carte, I put together this LO--which I also am using as my sample for the June 22nd Challenge of the Day over at PersonalScrapper (my day to challenge everyone). My challenge--Fussy Cutting, something of late that I have come to love.

The Sassafrass paper was so fun to cut up--all those flowers, clouds, sun and owl. And then I love the October Afternoon striped paper with the cool clouds on the back. Added in some Prima papers (green background and diamonds) to finish it off. It took me a bit to figure out which alpha to use for the title but then I remembered I had these white Paper Trunk alphas--perfect size! Love them! And the "rayon de soleil"--one of the menu items at A La Carte was to use something French. :) Too much fun!

I have a few more challenges over at PS.com to catch up on and am hoping to get to them in the next day or two. The girls are finally out of school on Wednesday and having 5 kids at home all day all summer means my scrapping time may be a bit limited. :)
